Now, tell me, how comfortable do you feel with German greetings and goodbyes? I have notice that some people take for granted the importance of proper greetings in German. Once they learn a simple, “Guten Tag,” they move on to other things. However, first impressions are very important when there is no one who really knows you. What you first say to a person is going to determine the way the person speaks back to you.
In your next lessons, I’m going to review some of the most common “Gr??e” (greetings) and “Verabschiedungen” (farewells) you’ll hear in German. You will also learn more possible responses to the questions, “Wie geht’s” (How are you?).
