How comfortable do you feel with Chinese greetings and goodbyes? I have noticed that some people take for granted the importance of proper greetings in Chinese. Once they learn a simple “Ni hao” they move on to other things. However, first impressions are very important, especially in a totally new environment. What you first say to a person is going to determine the way the person speaks back to you.
